The amateur home of world champion Carl "The Jackal" Frampton — training fighters, building community, and welcoming everyone from age 5 to adult.
Founded in 1974, Midland Boxing Club has been a cornerstone of North Belfast for half a century. Operating from the Midland Social and Recreation Association building on Cultra Street, we're proud to be the amateur home of world champion boxer Carl "The Jackal" Frampton.
We're more than a gym — Midland shares its home with the Midland Senior Citizens group, the Nifty 50s, and Midland Art Club, making us a genuine community hub for all ages and backgrounds, focused on cross-community engagement and social welfare.
Whether you're 5 or 55, a first-timer or a future champion, Midland ABC has a programme built for you.
Structured coaching for young people aged 5+, building discipline, fitness and confidence in a safe, supportive environment.
New female-only changing facilities and dedicated sessions as part of our push to bring more women and girls into the sport.
From fitness boxing to competitive amateur training in our two full-size rings, coached by experienced club trainers.
Thanks to a £700,000 investment from Belfast City Council and the Garfield Weston Foundation, our home in Tiger's Bay has been completely transformed.
Drop by the gym, give us a call, or find us on Facebook — new members always welcome.
