Mahon CDP Resource Centre delivers childcare, youth work, training and employment support, and social services for people of every age across Mahon, Cork City.
Mahon Community Development Project (Mahon CDP) was established in 1992 as a youth and community project in an urban designated disadvantaged area of Cork City. We're a non-profit NGO, managed by a voluntary board of management, and proudly independent — built by the community, for the community.
From our resource centre on Mahon Drive, we run a childcare facility and youth centre alongside targeted programmes for older people, those affected by mental ill health, people who are unemployed, and young fathers — plus generic, intergenerational and intercultural youth work.
Our reach extends beyond Mahon too: through our Childcare Community Employment Training Scheme, we support a further 50 employees in childcare facilities across the south of Cork City and East Cork.
From early childhood to later life, our programmes are designed around the real needs of the Mahon community.
A welcoming drop-in hub offering information, advice and signposting to local supports and services.
Quality childcare provision including our Beginnings Creche, supporting families across south Cork and East Cork.
Generic, intergenerational and intercultural youth work that builds confidence, connection and opportunity.
Educational and Community Employment (CE) schemes that open pathways into work and further training.
Social, recreational and support programmes for older people and those affected by mental ill health.
Dedicated support helping young fathers build skills and confidence for family life.
We're based on Mahon Drive and open to the community throughout the working week.
